Directions to the University of Bremen

The University of Bremen is located on the Eastern edges of the city (download map pdfhere).

 

Arrival by car

When approaching Bremen by road on the A1, change to the A27 in the direction of Bremen-Bremerhaven. Exit A27 at junction 19 “Universität/Horn-Lehe” and follow the signs for Zentrum/Universität. The junction is in the north-east corner of the campus map (download pdfhere). There is ample parking space at the corner of Universitätsallee/E-Schmidt-Str. (70 Euro Cents/day, access from E.-Schmidt-Str.).

 

Arrival by train

When leaving Bremen Hauptbahnhof [central station] take the South exit for Stadtmitte [city centre]. Taxis and trams leave directly from the station square. The taxi fare will be approximately 10 Euros. The tram is cheaper (approximately 2.50 Euros): take Tram 6 to “Universität”. Tram tickets can be bought in the kiosk on the station square or in ticket machines inside the trams. When the tram reaches the campus area (after approximately 15 minutes) you may get off at the stop “Universität/NW1” for the hotels “Munte am Stadtwald” and “7things”; the stop closest to the conference venue is “Universität/Zentralbereich”.

 

Arrival by plane

The taxi fare from the airport to the University will cost you about 20 Euros. Alternatively Tram #6 runs directly from the airport to the University. Tram tickets can be bought in a ticket machine at the airport tram stop or in ticket machines inside the trams. When the tram reaches the campus area (after approximately 30 minutes) you may get off at the stop “Universität/NW1” for the hotels “Munte am Stadtwald” and “7things”; the stop closest to the conference venue is “Universität/Zentralbereich”.

 

Public transport in Bremen

Tram #6 (Airport – City Centre – Main Station – University) runs at least every 10 minutes during day time. You can find time tables and further information at http://www.bsag.de/en/information.html.
